Mutahir Rauf, a 23-year-old student at Loyola University Chicago, was fatally shot during an attempted robbery on December 5, 2014, in the Rogers Park neighborhood near the university's campus. The incident occurred around 7:50 p.m. on Albion Avenue. Mutahir and his brother were walking near their campus when two men approached them with a gun and attempted to rob them.
