On a Friday afternoon in Denver, Colorado, on September 11, 2009, the life of 19-year-old Christopher Camack was tragically cut short. The young Black man was on the front lawn of a residence in the 3200 block of Albion Street when a vehicle approached. Shots were fired from the passing car, striking Camack. Emergency services responded to the scene around 2:30 p.m., but his injuries proved fatal, and he died there on the lawn.
The immediate investigation into the shooting pointed toward
a drive-by attack. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing an older model tan Cadillac in the vicinity at the time of the incident. The vehicle was reportedly occupied by two Black males. The Denver Police Department quickly identified these two individuals as persons of interest in the homicide case. Despite this initial lead, the identities of the men in the Cadillac have remained elusive.
In the years following Christopher Camack's death, his case has grown cold. Law enforcement has periodically sought the public's help, at one point offering a reward for any information that could lead to an arrest and conviction. However, no arrests have ever been made in connection with the murder. The case remains an open and unsolved homicide with the Denver Police Department, a painful and unresolved chapter for the family and friends of the young man whose life was taken that day.
