On the evening of July 19, 1978, a tragic event unfolded at the Mir-O-Bar, a downtown Denver drinking establishment. Joe Gerry, a 63-year-old man, was sitting at the bar when several patrons heard a loud noise. Shortly thereafter, it was discovered that Joe Gerry had been shot. Despite being transported to a local hospital, Mr. Gerry succumbed to his injuries and died as a result of the gunshot wound.
