In the fading light of a Tuesday evening in Denver, Colorado, on November 3, 2015, the life of 27-year-old Eric Benjamin Hines Jr. was tragically cut short. The young man was at the Sand & Sage Motel located in the 8400 block of East Colfax Avenue when gunfire erupted around 9:30 p.m. Hines sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the violent encounter.
