In the late summer of 1987, a violent incident in Denver led to the untimely death of 30-year-old Daniel Archuletta. On the evening of August 17th, officers from the Denver Police Department were dispatched to the vicinity of West 13th Avenue and Lipan Street following reports of a disturbance. Upon their arrival, they discovered two individuals with injuries.
One of them, Daniel Archuletta, a Hispanic male, had sustained a serious gunshot wound.
Emergency services transported Archuletta to a local hospital for immediate medical attention. For several weeks, he fought for his life, but his condition tragically worsened. On September 4, 1987, Daniel Archuletta succumbed to the injuries he had sustained in the August shooting. His death was officially attributed to the gunshot wound from the neighborhood disturbance.
Despite the passage of time, the case surrounding Daniel Archuletta's death remains an unsolved cold case. To date, there has been no public information released regarding any arrests made in connection with the homicide, nor have any suspects been officially named.
