Omar Enriquez-Magdaleno, 19, male, Hispanic/Latino, was fatally shot in the early hours of February 4, 2024, during a house party in Denver’s Green Valley Ranch neighborhood. Police were called just after 1:20 a.m. to the 5000 block of North Orleans Court, where a confrontation erupted after a group of uninvited guests arrived and gunfire broke out inside the residence. Evidence at the scene indicated multiple shooters and multiple firearms.
Four additional people were wounded, and a 17-year-old, later identified as Giovanni Heredia, also died from his injuries. The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner subsequently confirmed Enriquez-Magdaleno’s identity and ruled his death a homicide.
Detectives said early on that the attack did not appear random and that some witnesses may have left before officers arrived. Medical authorities noted they were notified of Enriquez-Magdaleno’s death at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora at about 3:20 a.m., underscoring how chaotic the aftermath was as victims were taken to different hospitals. In the months that followed, Metro Denver Crime Stoppers increased a reward to encourage tips, while local coverage continued to emphasize that shots came from more than one weapon during the confrontation.
As of the latest public updates, no arrests have been announced in connection with Enriquez-Magdaleno’s killing. Investigators have described the event as a birthday party that drew uninvited attendees, after which a dispute escalated rapidly, leaving six people shot in total.
