Marcus Williams and the subsequent murders of Jacqueline Cline, 33, and Victoria Loftis, 23, culminated in the arrest of two suspects: Richard Spanks and Haywood Miller. The two men were found responsible for the three killings that occurred over a three-day period. The first incident, which resulted in Williams' death, took place at an apartment complex on Carmel Drive. The violence continued at a residence on Mosswood Lane where the two female victims were discovered.
In March 2018, justice was served for Marcus Williams and the other victims. After a trial, both Richard Spanks and Haywood Miller were found guilty of three counts of first-degree murder, along with a host of other charges including attempted murder, assault, menacing, and aggravated motor vehicle theft. The court handed down sentences of three life terms without the possibility of parole for both men, in addition to dozens of years for the other crimes they committed.
