On a spring evening in Colorado Springs, the life of Andrew Lawrence Swiatek Jr., a 29-year-old male, was tragically cut short. On April 15, 2017, Swiatek was found deceased in a vehicle in the vicinity of South Academy Boulevard and Astrozon Boulevard, the victim of a fatal shooting. The initial discovery prompted an immediate and intensive investigation by the Colorado Springs Police Department as they began to piece together the events that led to this violent act.
