In the late afternoon of March 30, 2018, Jennifer 'Jen' Myers, a 31-year-old mother of two, was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head in a home in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Earlier that day, Myers had been at a local bar where she was reportedly celebrating a new job. Witnesses stated that she became heavily intoxicated and was cut off from being served more alcohol.
A man named Randy William, a regular at the bar, offered to drive Myers home.
Instead of taking her to her residence, he took her to his own. Some time after their arrival, William called 911 to report that Myers had been shot. He initially told investigators that Myers had shot herself, a claim her family vehemently disputed, stating she would never have taken her own life.
Subsequent investigation by the Wheat Ridge Police Department led to the arrest of Randy William on suspicion of murder. Surveillance footage from a neighbor's camera reportedly captured William carrying rifle cases out of his house after Myers' death and before he called for help. However, the Jefferson County District Attorney's office later declined to file formal charges against William, citing a need for further investigation, and he was released from jail. The case remains a mystery, with no one having been officially named a suspect in her death.
