In the midst of a heated family argument, Monica Montoya, a 43-year-old female, was tragically killed. The incident occurred on a Saturday afternoon when Montoya rushed to her mother's home in Commerce City, Colorado, after receiving a distressing phone call. An argument had erupted between her mother and her stepfather, 62-year-old Luis Lara. Montoya's arrival unfortunately escalated the conflict rather than quelling it.
