On the evening of December 5, 2024, Omaha police responded to a shooting near 27th and Polk streets. Upon arrival, officers discovered 41-year-old Charles Primes deceased from a gunshot wound.

The following day, a felony warrant was issued for 16-year-old Korion Rockwell, charging him with first-degree murder and use of a weapon in connection with Primes' death. Rockwell subsequently turned himself in to authorities.
