On January 27, 2015, Alexander Joseph Villafane, a 39-year-old man from Chicago, was tragically killed in a homicide. Villafane was well-known in his community for his efforts in mentoring young boys, particularly in the age group of 10-13, in neighborhoods such as Humboldt Park, where he grew up.
