In the fading light of a Wednesday evening, on September 26, 2018, a violent altercation in an alleyway in east Denver tragically cut short the life of 25-year-old Andro Charles Lowate. Lowate, a male of African descent whose family hailed from Sudan, was sometimes known to his friends as Andrew. The fatal encounter unfolded around 8:50 p.m. in the 1300 block of the alley situated between Yosemite and Xenia Streets, an area near the Community College of Aurora.
