In the late autumn of 2020, the life of a young Colorado Springs woman was tragically cut short. Rebecca Marie Smith, a 27-year-old female known affectionately to her loved ones as Nevaeh, was killed on November 18, 2020. Her death, which occurred at a local hotel, was the result of a shooting. The Colorado Springs Police Department's Homicide/Assault Unit immediately launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
