On November 10, 2021, Carlos Julio Albarracin Albarracin, a 34-year-old male, was shot and killed at the Florida Station Apartments. His young son, who was six years old at the time, was in the back seat of their truck and witnessed his father's murder.
The killing of Albarracin was part of a violent, hour-long crime spree that included multiple carjackings and a home invasion across Denver and Aurora. The senseless act of violence left a deep void in the lives of his loved ones, who remembered him as a good man and a loving father. In November 2023, justice was served as Jacobs was sentenced to 85 years in prison for his role in the crime spree, including the murder of Carlos Albarracin.
