In the early morning hours of July 16, 2022, the life of 28-year-old Luke Scott Clayton was tragically cut short in a Littleton, Colorado home. A White male, Clayton was discovered by Littleton police officers who were responding to a report of shots fired in the 2700 block of West Riverwalk Circle at approximately 3:20 a.m. Upon their arrival, they found Clayton had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
The incident was one of a growing number of violent crimes involving
firearms in the area, a trend that had been concerning both the Littleton and neighboring Englewood communities. In the wake of the shooting, investigators began searching for those responsible for Clayton's death. Their efforts led them to identify two suspects in connection with the fatal shooting.
Subsequently, 29-year-old Darla Rodriguez and 37-year-old Adam Vilders were arrested and taken into custody. Both individuals are facing charges of second-degree murder and are being held at the Arapahoe County Jail. The arrests brought a measure of progress in a case that highlighted the ongoing issue of gun violence in the suburban community. Luke, a graduate of St. John's Military School, was working as a plumbing apprentice at the time of his death and was remembered by friends and family as a loyal and genuine person with a great love for his dogs.
