Nyerere L. Lloyd, a 26-year-old male, was shot and killed on May 3, 2015, in the Marquette Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The shooting occurred in the early morning hours as Lloyd stood on the sidewalk in the 3100 block of West 64th Street. He was approached by an unknown assailant who opened fire, fatally wounding him. Lloyd was later pronounced dead, adding his name to the growing list of gun violence victims in Chicago.
