On August 12, 2002, Mark Anaya and his friend Anthony Garcia were victims of a fatal shooting in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The incident occurred when the two were seated inside Anthony Garcia's red Pontiac Firebird, which was pulled over in the 5400 block of Douglas Road SW. Mark Anaya died from a gunshot wound to the head, while Anthony Garcia succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
