Myiesha Danielle Bishop, a 10-year-old African American girl, tragically lost her life on May 28, 2004, in Mebane, North Carolina. The circumstances surrounding her death were both harrowing and deeply unsettling. On May 25, 2004, Myiesha was shot in the head by her father, Rufus Bishop. Following the shooting, Rufus attempted to set their house on fire with Myiesha inside.
