On a summer evening in Albuquerque, New Mexico, a dispute over seating at a movie theater escalated into a tragedy that claimed the life of 52-year-old Michael Tenorio, a Hispanic male. On June 25, 2023, Tenorio and his wife were at the Century Rio 24 theater for an evening showing when an argument began with another couple over reserved seats. The disagreement, which started over a simple seating mix-up, quickly intensified, setting the stage for a senseless act of violence.
