On June 25, 2023, 52-year-old Michael Tenorio was fatally shot during a dispute over reserved seating at the Century Rio 24 Theater in northeast Albuquerque, New Mexico. The altercation began when Tenorio and his wife occupied seats that had been reserved by 19-year-old Enrique Padilla and his girlfriend.
