In the spring of 2020, the life of a young Hispanic / Latino man named Jose Valenzuela was tragically cut short. At 25 years old, Valenzuela became a victim of gun violence in Albuquerque, New Mexico. On the evening of April 13, 2020, police responded to a call of a shooting on West Central Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered Jose Valenzuela at the scene, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
The Albuquerque Police Department launched a homicide investigation into Valenzuela's death.
