On July 17, 2011, Quincy Booker, a 36-year-old Albuquerque resident, was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting near the intersection of Arno Avenue and Santa Fe Avenue Southeast. Witnesses reported that four men exited a blue 1990s Dodge Neon with turquoise New Mexico plates and began firing at Booker, hitting him up to 15 times.
