In the winter of 2006, the life of 17-year-old Korina Valles was tragically cut short in her Albuquerque, New Mexico, home. On the evening of February 13th, the teenager was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound. When emergency responders arrived at the residence, she was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving a community to grapple with the sudden and violent loss of a young life.
