Marcia Elizabeth Hagele Bockemeier, 78, female, White/Caucasian, died on May 24, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was found inside her family's northeast Albuquerque home after firefighters responded to a reported house fire in the 2800 block of Georgia Street NE that morning. Police soon determined that three people inside the residence—Marcia, her husband Stephen, and their adult son Erik—had been shot before the blaze began.
Detectives connected the killings to a related scene across town less than two hours later. Outside the State Bar of New Mexico on Masthead Street NE, officers found the body of 35-year-old Andrew Stephen Bockemeier. Investigators reported that a gun located with Andrew and a note found on his person indicated he had shot his parents and older brother at the Georgia Street home and then died by suicide at the State Bar location.
Authorities publicly identified the victims and the suspected shooter later that day, listing Stephen Bockemeier, 76, Marcia Bockemeier, 77–78, and Erik Bockemeier, 48, as the three people killed at the house, and Andrew Bockemeier as the deceased suspect discovered at the State Bar address. The fire department's initial call time to the residence was around 6:07 a.m., and the call regarding the body at the State Bar came at approximately 7:53 a.m., according to local reports compiled from the scene.
No arrests were made in the case. Police described the incident as a triple homicide followed by the suspect's suicide and said they did not believe any additional suspects were outstanding. Subsequent obituaries and memorial notices confirmed Marcia's identity and date of death, reflecting the family's loss in the wake of the investigation's findings.
