On December 9, 2020, a tragic incident occurred at an apartment complex in Albuquerque, New Mexico, resulting in the fatal injury of 24-year-old Edmmy Bautista-Carrera. The incident unfolded in the evening when gunfire erupted in the parking lot of the apartment complex located in the 1500 block of Columbia SE. According to reports from ABQJournal.com, Albuquerque police responded to the scene around 7:20 p.m. following reports of gunfire and a woman being injured.
