In the early morning hours of April 13, 2016, the quiet of Santa Clara, New Mexico, was broken by a fatal act of violence that claimed the life of 20-year-old Mauricio T. Acosta, a Hispanic/Latino male. Acosta was discovered outside the Central Apartments on South Prescott Street, having sustained gunshot wounds.
