On June 12, 2022, Malinda Heckard, a 55-year-old resident of Hobbs, New Mexico, lost her life due to gun violence. The incident occurred in the 1000 block of West Berry Drive in Hobbs, where Heckard was found with a gunshot wound to the chest. Responding to the emergency, the Hobbs Police Department and the Hobbs Fire Department EMS were dispatched to the scene.
