On a summer evening in Boston, tragedy befell Genevieve Marie Philip, a 22-year-old Black / African American woman, whose life was abruptly cut short on August 12, 2012. She was in a parked car on Harlem Street in the Dorchester neighborhood with three friends when they were ambushed in a hail of gunfire.
