Julien Printemps, a 22-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on the evening of January 26, 2014, in Boston, Massachusetts. The incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. outside a Tedeschi convenience store on Dorchester Avenue. Friends and family remembered Printemps as a kindhearted and loving person who had recently worked a temporary job at UPS. His mother, Gloria, described him as a good man who had no recent troubles with anyone.
On the night of the shooting, Printemps was getting into his
car in the parking lot when another vehicle pulled up. A man named Csean Skerritt, then 26, emerged from the driver's side of the other car. Prosecutors stated that Printemps and Skerritt, who were allegedly affiliated with rival groups, exchanged words. Skerritt then reportedly pulled out a semiautomatic handgun and opened fire on Printemps's vehicle as he tried to drive away. Skerritt allegedly continued to fire at the car as Printemps attempted to flee, striking him multiple times. Printemps's vehicle crashed and came to a stop on the curb. He managed to get out of the car before collapsing in the parking lot with mortal wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
In May 2015, Csean Skerritt, of North Attleboro, was charged with the murder of Julien Printemps. At the time of the killing, Skerritt had recently been released from a three-year prison sentence for a gun conviction and was on probation. He was indicted for first-degree murder. However, in November 2017, a Suffolk Superior Court jury found Skerritt not guilty of the murder and related gun charges in connection with Printemps's death.
