In the early morning hours of August 8, 2014, a violent incident on an I-91 North on-ramp in Springfield, Massachusetts, claimed the life of 44-year-old Hispanic male Jose M. Gonzalez of Chicopee. The event occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. near the McDonald's on Main Street in the North End of the city. Gonzalez was the victim of a homicide, and the case remains an active investigation.
