In the pre-dawn hours of February 5, 2015, a violent home invasion in Bourne, Massachusetts, claimed the life of Lisa A. Berlanga Trubnikova, a 31-year-old white female and a Petty Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard. The attack was carried out by a fellow Coast Guard member, Adrian Loya, who had driven from Virginia to confront Trubnikova. The incident, which also left Trubnikova's wife, Anna Trubnikova, and a Bourne police officer seriously injured, was the culmination of a long-held grudge.
