In the quiet hallways of the Veterans Park Apartments in Holyoke, Massachusetts, a tragedy unfolded on the morning of October 25, 2017, ending the life of 68-year-old Carmen Echevarria. A female resident of the affordable housing complex for seniors, Echevarria was found shot multiple times in a third-floor hallway of the building located at 598 Dwight Street.
