In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, the life of Joseph Willie Lee Brown, a 38-year-old Black / African American man, was tragically cut short. On July 17, 2016, at approximately 2 a.m., authorities received a 911 call reporting a man down. Police responded to 343 Columbus Avenue, where they discovered Brown's body in his own driveway.
