On June 5, 2017, 18-year-old Brad Lourenco from New Bedford, Massachusetts, lost his life in a tragic incident that was later determined to be a result of an ongoing feud between rival gangs in the area. The shooting occurred at Roberto Clemente Park in broad daylight, where Lourenco was part of a group of people targeted by the perpetrator.
