In the early afternoon of February 4, 2019, a burst of gunfire shattered the midday calm on Northampton Street in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood. When police responded to the scene at approximately 12:35 p.m., they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as Juan Morales, a 32-year-old Hispanic male from Fitchburg. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
