In the winter of 2020, a beloved Hispanic man's life was tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence. Marcos A. Ruiz Rodriguez, a 52-year-old male, was diligently performing his duties as a longtime employee of the Lawrence Department of Public Works on the afternoon of January 15th. He was filling potholes on Andover Street when gunfire erupted, and he was struck. First responders rushed him to Lawrence General Hospital, but sadly, he did not survive his injuries.
