On August 28, 2021, a fatal shooting occurred in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, resulting in the death of 31-year-old Shamel Winston Atkins. The incident took place around 6:30 p.m. on Erie Street, just past Washington Street. Upon arrival, Boston police officers found Atkins suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
