In the late hours of December 26, 2021, a young Black man named David Ballard-Perry was fatally shot on Union Street in Springfield, Massachusetts. At 22 years old, Ballard-Perry, a graduate of Springfield Central High School, was a father to a young son and was described by his family as a loving and devoted family member.
