Amanda Nicole “Mandy” Middleton was two years old, a little girl whose short life traced a small circle around the Columbia River Gorge—born in The Dalles and remembered there by family who chose a plot at Odd Fellows Cemetery for her resting place. On November 7, 1989, she died in north-central Oregon; public memorial records place her death in Sherman County, just south of the river, even as community remembrances sometimes refer to neighboring Wasco County where she was born and buried.
