William Ray Davis, a white male age 37, was killed on October 1, 1991, after being lured from Portland to a remote stretch of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation in Wasco County by a man promising day labor at ten dollars an hour. Davis, who was experiencing homelessness, was one of several men targeted with the same pitch.
