On September 12, 2000, William 'Bill' Bowman, a 35-year-old deputy and a six-year veteran of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, tragically lost his life during the SWAT team's annual training exercise at Camp Rilea, a National Guard training compound located north of Seaside, Oregon.
