On April 28, 2014, Tere David King, a 55-year-old resident of Athena, Oregon, lost his life in an officer-involved shooting. The incident occurred early in the morning, just before 7:30 a.m.
The shooting was carried out by an Athena police officer. According to Umatilla County District Attorney Daniel Primus, the circumstances leading to the shooting are part of an ongoing investigation, but it is confirmed that Tere David King was the victim of this fatal encounter with law enforcement.
