In Salem, Oregon, on November 10, 2016, a 29-year-old Caucasian female named Cassie Wilson died from a gunshot wound to her abdomen. At the time of the incident, she was inside her apartment with her partner of approximately eight years. Before she passed away, Cassie communicated to law enforcement that the shooting was an accident, stating that she had been handling the firearm when it discharged.
