On a summer night under the Oregon stars, a camping trip among friends turned into a scene of tragedy. Steven Troy Moody, a 48-year-old White/Caucasian male from Eugene, was enjoying the outdoors with his family and another family at the Mona Campground in Blue River on July 1, 2017. The serene environment of the campground was shattered in the early morning hours by the sound of gunfire, an event that would irrevocably alter the lives of everyone present.
