In the early morning hours of Friday, January 28, 2022, a tragic event unfolded in the Old Town area of Portland, Oregon, leading to the death of 26-year-old Jaquan Jamaul Jenkins. A Black / African American male, Jenkins was found by Portland Police officers around 2:16 a.m. at the intersection of Northwest 2nd Avenue and Couch Street, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical aid from the officers and subsequent transportation to a hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
