In the early morning hours of May 6, 2022, the typical quiet of the Embassy Suites hotel in Tigard, Oregon, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Police received calls about a disturbance involving a weapon at the hotel located near Washington Square mall at approximately 1:30 a.m. Upon their arrival, officers began a search of the building, which led them to a grim discovery.
Inside, they found two men who had been shot and were deceased.
The victims were later identified as 38-year-old Gerald Randle, a male from Portland, and his 37-year-old brother, Andrew Randle. The medical examiner confirmed that both brothers had died from gunshot wounds. The incident was quickly determined to be a double homicide, prompting an extensive investigation led by the Tigard Police Department with assistance from the Washington County Major Crimes Team. Investigators believed the suspect or suspects had fled the scene immediately after the shooting. While they assured the public that there was no ongoing threat to the community, the search for those responsible was just beginning.
For over a year and a half, detectives diligently worked the case, speaking with numerous individuals and piecing together the events that led to the brothers' deaths. Their persistence paid off, and in January 2024, a Washington County Grand Jury indicted three individuals in connection with the murders. The suspects were identified as 23-year-old Keontae Campbell, 25-year-old Quandrae Harris-Streeter, and 31-year-old Demarcus Davis.
The arrests of the three men brought a significant development to the long-standing case. Campbell and Harris-Streeter were taken into custody by Tigard police and the U.S. Marshals Task Force. Davis was already incarcerated in the Multnomah County Jail on unrelated charges. The charges brought against the three men were severe, including first and second-degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm, marking a crucial step towards justice for Gerald and Andrew Randle.
