In the early morning hours of May 6, 2022, the tranquil atmosphere of the Embassy Suites hotel in Tigard, Oregon, was shattered by the sound of gunshots. Responding to reports of a disturbance involving a weapon at approximately 1:30 a.m., law enforcement officers arrived at the hotel located near Washington Square mall. A search of the premises led to a grim discovery: two men were found deceased inside the hotel.
The victims were later identified as 37-year-old Andrew Randle, a Black/African American male, and his 38-year-old brother, Gerald Randle, both residents of Portland. The state medical examiner would later confirm that both brothers had died from gunshot wounds.
The Washington County Major Crimes Team took the lead in the homicide investigation, with detectives diligently working to piece together the events that led to the tragic deaths of the two brothers. Investigators believed the suspect or suspects had fled the scene after the shooting. For many months, the case remained under active investigation as authorities appealed to the public for any information that might lead to an arrest, assuring the community that they did not believe there was an ongoing threat.
A significant breakthrough in the case came in January 2024, when the Tigard Police Department announced the arrests of three suspects in connection with the double murder. A Washington County Grand Jury handed down indictments charging 23-year-old Keontae Campbell, 25-year-old Quandrae Harris-Streeter, and 31-year-old Demarcus Davis with second and first-degree murder, as well as felon in possession of a firearm. Campbell and Harris-Streeter were taken into custody by Tigard police, while Davis was already in custody at the Multnomah County Jail on an unrelated charge and faced the additional murder charges.
