On July 1, 2022, Lucian Thibodeaux, a 43-year-old Black / African American male from Portland, Oregon, was fatally shot at a Gresham MAX station. The incident prompted an investigation by the Gresham Police Department, with officers responding to the scene in the early morning hours. When they arrived, they discovered Thibodeaux with gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
