Susan Gail Carter, a 41-year-old White/Caucasian female, was last seen in Beckley, West Virginia, on August 8, 2000, along with her daughter, Natasha "Alex" Carter. At the time, Susan and Alex were staying at a home on Kyle Lane belonging to Larry Dell Webb. Susan was involved in a contentious custody dispute with Alex's father, Rick Lafferty, and the circumstances initially led authorities to believe that Susan had taken her daughter and disappeared.
