On a tragic day in Athens, West Virginia, the life of 48-year-old Laura Tawney was cut short. On September 7, 2015, the female resident was found at her home, a victim of fatal gun violence. The incident that unfolded was a harrowing case of domestic violence, culminating in a murder-suicide.
